For this project the main learning point was understanding the different types of transforms. First there were the 6DOF transforms that were needed to manipulate the 3D triangulated surface and the intensity image matrix to align with each other and functional datasets that were to be superimposed. There were also image plane transforms to be performed with a depth dependent size adjustment and occlusion criteria to be considered. Another challenge was to first create the 3d brain mesh. I accomplished this by inflating a Delaunay triangulated sphere the intensity image to a certain threshold value that defines the edge of the hemisphere/skull or whatever target structure was chosen.
